About Us
Moore Timber Co. is a small-scale sawmilling business based near Elgin, Moray. We sell a range of hardwood and softwood timber and provide a mobile milling service. We are committed to creating a localised timber market where trees are felled, processed, and put to use all within the local area. We work with foresters and tree surgeons to obtain a diverse range of high-quality timber; on the other end of the market, we work closely with craftsmen and women to tailor our products to the needs of professionals and DIYers alike.

Our Sawmill
The sawmill is a Woodmizer LT20, with a 6.1 meter-long bed and a 60cm cut. With a bit of chainsaw wizardry, however, any log can be processed by our trusty little mill.
The LT20 has a trailer bed, and a bandsaw on a carriage, and is powered by a diesel engine. This means that it is completely mobile. On the side of the bed is a set of lifting forks, which are connected to a hydraulic hand pump that can lift whatever log you can fit onto the saw bed. The forks enable the mill to work independently, without the need for any extra lifting equipment.

With a diverse background in nursing and path building, Kenny joined our team in 2023 to bring a fresh perspective to sawmill operations. His skills and enthusiasm have been invaluable in producing top-notch timber.
Em joined the Moore Timber Co. family in 2023, contributing to our sustainability efforts and assisting with yard operations. Her role also includes managing our firewood processing and supporting our team at events.
Ben founded Moore Timber Co. in 2020, bringing his forestry expertise to create a local source for high-quality timber. As the driving force behind the business, he oversees daily operations and ensures we deliver exceptional wood products to our community.
